Self Care IS Critical Care – Spa Strategies

LEARNING TO LOOK AFTER YOUR “SELF” is empowering – it affords you control over the quality of life you are leading – in spite of chronic illness, pain, fatigue… and so on. Take the time to discover what helps you, helps you to feel good, and recharge. It may seem difficult to practice all of the “self-care tips” that are important (eat, sleep, hydration, exercise, enjoyment, reflection, etc) on a daily basis – but in time, “SELF-CARE CAN BECOME A HEALTHY HABIT”. Notably, by practicing hypnosis and installing new programs (NLP) or patterns of behavior – the healthy habitual behavior of “self-care” can happen easily and you’ll find the effects are lasting. Take control of what you can so that you get through in the best ways possible! Hypnosis

By training my clients to use SELF HYPNOSIS they are learning how to self-soothe and can easily, and effortlessly – change their “state” to one that is more resourceful and helpful. Clients who learn this skill often report a feeling of greater control in their lives.

NLP

By helping my clients “retrain their brain” and using NLP techniques they learn how to self-coach when issues come up, they often experience a transformation in their mindset and report feeling more resourceful and in greater control to manage their symptoms.

Cannabis

While cannabis has become increasingly used as a serious medicine, its use can (and should) still be a joyful experience, as well. While pursuing better self-care, we can celebrate the therapeutic benefits of cannabis while also embracing its euphoric effects.

Tips for D.I.Y – Self-Care

ABOUT HYPNOSIS: YouTube has an exponential number of hypnosis tracks, although generic in nature, many are effective. Hypnosis is more of a passive process than an active one and is best experienced by trusting your wonderful mind to operate unconsciously as this is where habits are formed. There is no need to deliberately or consciously follow the suggestions (or words) but instead to let them wash over you in the same way that you would half-listen to a TV show. It is normal that you may find your mind wandering as you listen and you may even nod off to sleep, all of this is natural and even helps to improve the absorption of the suggestions presented. SINCE HUMAN NATURE IS SO WONDERFULLY COMPLEX, it is impossible to offer a particular NLP tip or NLP technique that would be appropriate for everyone, or which would be effective for absolutely everybody. That said, the following tips are simply GOOD ADVICE in general.

This section of the website contains tips, techniques and helpful information for managing your thoughts and feelings, focusing on what you want in life and feeling more in charge of your life.

  • Caffeine: use this potent drug with care and in moderation. Caffeine can boost alertness and get rid of drowsiness – and it can also lead to unpleasant and even serious symptoms when over-used.
  • Feelings: who or what causes your feelings? If you believe that your feelings are caused by other people, by events, or by that mysterious provocateur ‘circumstances’ you’re in trouble – or, at least, you’re not in charge of yourself. Our feelings are the result of how we deal with life.
  • One day at a time: sometimes it’s all too easy to overwhelm ourselves with the immensity or complexity of problems and challenges we face – back in the year the Titanic sunk Sir William Osler suggested making the day a watertight compartment.  This article has been updated so you will be redirected to our other site.
  • Leave it: what to do when people ‘press your hot buttons’ and anger or upset you – you can simmer (and, as a result, let them run your day) or you can decide to put it behind you
  • Daily Plan: this is one of the suggested ‘paper tips’ – ways of managing your thoughts and feelings using pen and paper (or keyboard.)
  • Procrastination causes stress – how to better motivate yourself: Self-motivation methods can be divided into two styles: carrot and stick. When using the stick style we do get results – but at a cost – we are, effectively, using stress to motivate ourselves.
  • Seize the moment – carpe diem: Sometimes we get complacent – acting as if we have unlimited time ahead of us. And occasionally we encounter a situation that brings us up sharp – a recognition that we need to act as if we do not have unlimited time. We need to seize the day – carpe diem!
  • Communicate clearly: “Well I told them! What more can I do??” It’s a common complaint – and a common attitude i.e. that it’s enough to mean well and communicate with people from this stance. It is not – it’s missing the point. Communication is an exchange of views.
  • Time to reframe things…?: Nothing absolutely means anything! We attach our own personal significance to events – and the NLP Reframing process or reframing technique is about deciding what significance we want to attach to an event.
  • Free Writing …or Writing Freely, is a great way of clearing your mind and getting to know what’s behind your negative or irritable thinking. It’s another simple ‘pen and paper method that can be used by anyone without any formal training. Very effective!

Whatever your take on hypnosis, neural-linguistic programming, or cannabis – at the very least this combination of therapeutic strategies helps people relax and that takes the pressure off a potentially compromised immune system. Also, science has proven, and an exponential amount of anecdotal evidence shows that when we visualize a “HEALTHY SELF” it does activate the same regions in the brain that promote healing, strengthen the immune system, and bolster the “feel good” energies! “Hypnosis, NLP, and Cannabis is an amazing strategy that can help you heal physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
